MODO ACS3 | Rig and Animate Character in 20 Minutes

MODO ACS3 | Rig and Animate Character in 20 Minutes

In this tutorial I’m showing the workflow for rigging and animating a character in about 20 minutes using MODO with ACS3 kit installed. The tutorial starts with a few tips on preparing and checking your mesh for rigging. Rigging is done using standard ACS3 biped rig with retargeting support and the animation is a motion capture clip exported from Mixamo. At the end of the video a quick correction of the retargeted animation is shown using ACS3 control rig.

It’s worth noting that although the tutorial is specific for MODO with ACS3 installed the tips on preparing mesh for rigging and animation shown at the beginning of the video have general application and might be useful even if you use other rigging tools.

The model used as an example is Bony character originally created by Ugur Ulvi Yetiskin for Maya and then adapted to MODO by Thomas Groppi.

Auto Character System 3 (ACS3) is a modular rigging system that makes it easy to rig and animate all kinds of characters in MODO. ACS3 is currently available as Early Access software at:
